Description

Description
Xtreme Gardening MYKOS

How To Use

General Application

To use Mykos when planting, add it directly into the planting hole around the plant’s root zone. Mykos works best when it comes into direct contact with the plant roots. Place the plant into the hole, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly after planting to help support strong root establishment.

Containers

For container gardening, mix the recommended amount into the growing medium based on your pot size. Apply evenly around the root zone when planting or transplanting, then water thoroughly after planting.

Recommended application rates:

1–3 gallon container: 1–2 tbsp
5–7 gallon container: 4–6 tbsp
10–20 gallon container: 1/2 cup
25–50 gallon container: 1 cup
100 gallon container: 2 cups

Rock Wool Cubes

To use Mykos with rock wool cubes, use a small stake or fork to poke several 1/4–1/2 inch holes at the bottom of the planting hole. Add 1–2 teaspoons directly into the hole, making sure the product is positioned under the plant roots for direct root contact. Set the plant in place and water thoroughly after planting to help support healthy root development.

In Ground & Raised Beds

For in-ground planting and raised beds, apply 1–2 tablespoons per plant around each planting hole or directly to the plant roots. For best results, make sure the product comes into direct contact with the root zone before backfilling with soil and watering thoroughly after planting.

Sowing Seeds

When sowing seeds, apply 1 tablespoon per foot of planting row or 1/2 teaspoon per cell or plug. Place the product near the seed or young root zone so it is available as the seedling develops, then water gently after planting to help support early root growth and healthy seedling establishment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is rhizophagus intraradices important for plant growth?

Rhizophagus intraradices is important because it forms a living root partnership that expands the plant’s nutrient and water reach—especially for hard-to-move phosphorus—making growth steadier under stress, which is unique compared to most inputs because it must colonize the roots to work rather than simply being absorbed like a typical nutrient.

Why is funneliformis mosseae important for plant growth?

Funneliformis mosseae is important because it forms a living extension of the root system that helps plants absorb hard-to-reach nutrients—especially phosphorus—while improving water uptake and stress tolerance. What makes it unique is that it doesn’t just “support” roots from the outside; it builds a microscopic network that actively transports nutrients and water back to the plant, often leading to steadier growth and fewer nutrient-related problems.
