Description

Description
Xtreme Gardening AZOS is a nitrogen-fixing bacteria inoculant for cloning and transplanting, built to support natural root development and faster vegetative growth. This beneficial microbe inoculant focuses on plant nutrition support by turning free atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-available nutrient.

AZOS is described as an all-natural, growth-promoting bacteria that converts atmospheric nitrogen into a usable form that is readily available to the plant. Nitrogen is critical for forming vegetative matter and supporting abundant growth, so this nitrogen-fixing bacteria is positioned to help plants stay greener and more efficient during active growth. The result is a supplemental source of nitrogen that supports steadier momentum when plants are building new tissue.

A key strength of this product is root support. The supplemental source of nitrogen increases the plant’s ability to quickly establish roots, which can translate into faster vegetative growth after a cutting roots or a transplant settles in. AZOS promotes growth while boosting natural root development, making it a practical choice when you want a clearer path from “fresh start” to “actively growing plant.” It’s also positioned for use through vegetative and early flower stages, which helps keep the timing simple when you want support across the early-to-mid growth window.

The facts layer is straightforward. This beneficial bacteria inoculant contains a diazotrophic bacteria, Azospirillum brasilense, a nitrogen-fixing bacteria associated with atmospheric nitrogen conversion into plant-available ammoniacal nitrogen. That microbe-focused profile keeps AZOS in the “growth-promoting bacteria” category rather than a conventional fertilizer, while still supporting plant nutrition in a meaningful way.

For setup flexibility, AZOS is described as suitable for all types of growing media, and it’s also noted for water-borne applications. Plant-scope language is broad and garden-friendly, with vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers specifically called out. That makes it easy to place in mixed gardens where you want one beneficial bacteria product that fits multiple plant categories without overthinking it.

This inoculant is a good fit for growers who want a wettable powder nitrogen-fixing bacteria product for cloning and transplanting, with a clear goal of quickly establishing roots and supporting abundant, vigorous vegetative growth across a wide range of grow styles.
How to use
Rooting Cuttings:
For rooting cuttings with Xtreme Gardening AZOS, mix 4 tablespoons of AZOS per 1 gallon / 3.8 litres of water. Soak grow plugs or rockwool cubes in the solution for 10 minutes before use.

In a separate small container, mix 1 part AZOS with 2 parts water to create a dipping solution. Dip the tips of fresh cuttings into the solution for 15 seconds, then place the cuttings into the prepared plugs or cubes.

For best results, adjust the water pH to 6.0 before mixing AZOS with water.

For propagation machines such as EZ Clone or Turbo Cloner systems, adjust the water pH to 6.0, then add 1 tablespoon of AZOS per 1 gallon / 3.8 litres of water.

Transplanting:
When transplanting with Xtreme Gardening AZOS, apply the recommended amount directly into the planting hole around the plant roots, or lightly dust the entire root ball before planting. For best results, make sure AZOS comes into direct contact with the root zone. Set the plant in place, backfill with soil or growing medium, and water thoroughly after transplanting to help support healthy root growth and plant establishment.

Recommended application rates:.

1–3 gallon container: 1 tbsp 5–7 gallon container: 2 tbsp 10–20 gallon container: 3 tbsp 25–50 gallon container: 4 tbsp 100 gallon container: 1/2 cup.

In Ground & Raised Beds:
For in-ground planting and raised beds, apply 1 tablespoon of Xtreme Gardening AZOS per planting hole. Place AZOS directly around the plant roots or root zone before backfilling with soil. Water thoroughly after planting to help support strong root development and healthy plant establishment.

When Watering:
When watering with Xtreme Gardening AZOS, mix the recommended amount with water and apply once per week during the vegetative or grow stage. AZOS can be hand watered directly into the root zone or added to a reservoir for regular feeding. Use as directed to help support healthy root development, vigorous vegetative growth, and strong plant establishment.

Recommended application rates:.

5 gallon reservoir: 2 tbsp 25 gallon reservoir: 3–4 tbsp 50 gallon reservoir: 6–8 tbsp 100 gallon reservoir: 3/4–1 cup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does azospirillum brasilense do for plants?

Azospirillum brasilense supports stronger root development, helps improve nitrogen availability, and enhances overall nutrient uptake, leading to healthier, more vigorous plant growth.

Why are inert carriers important in plant inputs?

Inert carriers are important because they control how evenly an ingredient mixes, spreads, sticks, and reaches the plant, which directly affects consistency and safety. They’re unique from other “inactive” components because their main job is delivery and stability, meaning they can improve results or cause issues like residue, foaming, leaf spotting, or root stress if the carrier doesn’t match your growing method.
