Description

Athena Nutrients Blended Line Cleanse is a water conditioner and irrigation system descaler made to keep irrigation water and equipment running cleaner by reducing scale and mineral buildup. It’s built for growers who want a dependable system cleaner that supports consistent flow, cleaner lines, and a more stable day-to-day irrigation setup without turning maintenance into a bigger project.

Cleanse is made from hypochlorous acid, a mild acid derived from salt through a proprietary electrochemical treatment process. That process produces a unique, plant-safe chemical with powerful oxidative properties that help prevent mineral buildup, increase oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), and descale irrigation systems. In practical terms, it targets the crusty deposits and residue that can build up over time and interfere with smooth delivery in irrigation lines and hardware.

This is a non-toxic and non-nutritive water conditioner, suited for plants in any stage of growth. It works to descale irrigation systems and decompose residual organic matter, which helps keep equipment performing more consistently over time. Cleanse is also described as very low TDS, so it’s designed to support system cleanliness without throwing off mineral balance in the solution. For growers who care about long-term reliability, it’s positioned to keep an irrigation system cleaner and running efficiently for longer.

Cleanse is also positioned as effective for removing mineral buildup (scale) in growing media and irrigation lines, including as a final flush when buildup is a concern. It’s additionally described for recirculating setups such as deep water culture (DWC) and other recirculating hydroponics systems, where mineral residue and scale can accumulate and contribute to performance issues. If you’re running irrigation equipment regularly and want a focused, plant-safe scale control tool that supports cleaner lines, steadier operation, and higher ORP, Athena Nutrients Blended Line Cleanse is a good fit for growers prioritizing clean irrigation and reliable system performance.

Tips for best results

  • Maintain pH and EC/ppm within the range recommended for your growing medium and crop.
  • Use fresh nutrient solution whenever possible and avoid leaving mixed solution stagnant for long periods.
  • Store nutrients in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Keep bottles tightly sealed when not in use to reduce air exposure and preserve product quality.
  • Use clean measuring tools and regularly rinse or clean your reservoir, lines, and irrigation equipment.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not mix different nutrients or additives together in concentrated form before adding them to water.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dosage unless you are following a tested, crop-specific feeding plan.
  • Do not skip pH or EC/ppm checks when growing in hydroponic or soilless systems.
  • Do not allow the nutrient solution to freeze or overheat, as this can damage the formulation.
  • Do not ignore the directions on the product label for your specific crop, growth stage, and system type.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is hypochlorous acid important for plants?

Hypochlorous acid is important because it lowers harmful microbes on surfaces, tools, and water-contact systems, helping prevent disease pressure that can slow growth or damage roots and leaves. What makes it unique is that it supports plant health through sanitation and cleanliness rather than feeding the plant or acting like a traditional growth ingredient.
